Township Information
Incorporated on Sept. 3, 1810, Lykens Township is situated in the northern most part of Dauphin County, PA. It borders Northumberland County on the north and Schuylkill County on the east, centrally it surrounds the borough of Gratz. It’s 26.4 square miles are comprised of lush farm land, a mountain and the village of Erdman. A portion of the Tulpehocken Trail passes through Erdman as it winds its way into Klingerstown.
It is a second class township governed by a three member Board of Supervisors. The township has a Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, Zoning Ordinance among various other Ordinances.
- The 2012 census listed population at 1618.
- Board meetings are the fourth (4) Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm.
- The Zoning Officer is in the office every Wednesday evening 6:00pm to 8:00 pm.
